The Miami Heat have surpassed the halfway marker of the 2013-14 NBA regular season and it looks as if the club is going to make another run at an NBA championship. At 41 games the Heat finished at 17 games over .500 and firmly in the 2nd spot of the Eastern Conference. Let's name the 3 highs & 3 lows of the 1st half of the season.
Lows
1. Dwyane Wade's deterioration is now at a point where he can no longer play every day. When he does play sometimes he's rested and great, other times he's out of the loop.
2. Defensive lapses are occurring more and more as the dog days of the season have hit with the Heat allowing any team a chance at beating them.
3. The Indiana Pacers are determined to make their statement this season and the Heat are still trailing them in the standings along with some Western Conference teams.
Highs
1. LeBron James continues to be the best basketball player on the planet even with competition like Kevin Durant trying to unseat him.
2. The Heat experiments with Greg Oden and Michael Beasley have been successful so far and both players making strides could put the Heat back over the top before the regular season ends.
3. Chris Bosh has stepped up in the wake of Dwyane Wade's constant absence to be the 2nd best player on the team. This could put a lot teams off as they are not usually prepared to handle Bosh when he's on fire.
So there you have it. The Miami Heat are much in line with the past few teams that have challenged to three-peat record-wise so there is no time to panic in January. The Heat are almost guaranteed a 2nd seed as the Southeast division champions again and have defeated every team ahead of them in the league standings.

Big Catching Up Post
Sorry to everyone for not posting anything. A lot has happened for me and I'll be even busier than ever but still intend to run my various SoFla Sports groups.
1st. Yes the Miami Heat lost the NBA Finals and subsequently lost LeBron James to Cleveland. But Dwyane Wade still calls Miami home and Chris Bosh has truly fallen in love with South Florida. Regarding LeBron, I am okay with him going back home. He obviously loves his home and still had the events of 2010 still weighing on him throughout his 4 years in Miami. We got two championships out of it and have been the dominant team in the Eastern Conference for the past decade. Count y
2013 Miami Heat Year in Review
The 2013 NBA season has culminated with the Miami Heat successfully defending their championship and having another summer of pride in South Florida. This review will cover the Heat's season, the start & growth of HeatBasketball and a personal statement from me, the founder, on what this NBA Championship meant to me.
The Miami Heat entered the season with high expectations as always. The Heat made a splash by signing Ray Allen and weakening one rival in the Boston Celtics. It seemed the rest of the teams in the league were searching for ways to bolster their teams to defeat the Heat. The Los Angeles Lakers in particular brought in a couple o

NBA Playoffs Round 3: Miami-4 vs. Indiana-3
The Miami Heat were battle tested against a Bulls team that played physical to compensate for their lack of talent. The next opponent you could say is much like the Bulls but their physical play is their biggest strength. The Indiana Pacers have waited a long time for this moment after the past 2 seasons being overshadowed by other teams like New York, Boston, Chicago and, of course, Miami. Miami and Indiana have had some tough playoff battles. The Pacers, being the dominant force of the ABA, easily took out the Floridians in 5 games in 1969. In 2004, an upstart Heat team led by rookie Dwyane Wade were not ready for a Pacers team that was hop
